I am the President of Creative Crossing a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is to enrich communities through the transformative power of the arts. We are dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive cultural experiences, fostering creativity, and supporting local artists. By promoting artistic expression and education, we aim to inspire, connect, and elevate our community. We plan and execute community events around mural installations and art exhibits for mental health and pride months. Through collaboration with artists and correctional institutions, we provided instruction and restorative justice programming for system-impacted juveniles in Kern County. In the process of participants learning how to re-create spaces, they learn to re-create themselves for reintroduction into their community as working artists who have donated a public mural and have marketable skills to contribute to society. I am actively working to duplicate programming in Monterey County under the Creative Crossing umbrella and would love to connect with creatives or potential agency partners interested in joining forces to further this goal.
Creative Crossing was the recipient of the 2021 Beautiful Bakersfield Awards, Arts and Culture Category and was nominated for the 2022 Beautiful Bakersfield, Humanitarian Category.
